Golfing for Health: A Senior Celebration
As May rolls around, it’s time to tee up for the fourth annual “Coffee & Tee” senior golf scramble hosted by Briar Hill Health Campus. This fantastic event, dedicated to celebrating National Senior Health and Fitness Day, is set to take place on Wednesday, May 27, at the Birch Run Golf Course. Open to local seniors aged 55 and over, the scramble promises a day filled with camaraderie and wellness-focused fun.
Connecting Through Competition
Imagine the scene: a sunny morning, the smell of freshly brewed coffee and warm doughnuts wafting through the air as participants gather. The event kicks off at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m., allowing seniors to enjoy an invigorating workout on the green while engaging with their peers. This golf scramble not only fosters community bonds but also emphasizes the importance of staying physically active in our golden years.
Encouraging Active Lifestyles
The “Coffee & Tee” golf scramble aligns perfectly with the ongoing mission of Briar Hill Health Campus to encourage health and wellness among older adults. Regular physical activity can reduce the risk of chronic diseases and boost mental well-being, making events like these vital for community health.
Create Lasting Memories
But this event isn’t just about golf; it’s about creating lasting connections. Spaces are limited to 18 teams, accommodating 72 golfers, encouraging friendships and support networks among participants. Those who register as teams must note that each player has to enroll individually, but solo players are warmly encouraged as well.
